About Sarah C. Sutton
Sarah Carolyn Sutton is a licensed Landscape Architect with over 30 years experience in sustainable landscape design and construction. As a LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Green Building Professional, she advises on numerous sustainable projects and programs—locally and nationally. Ms. Sutton earned her degree in Landscape Architecture and was awarded the Eisner Prize in the Creative Arts, at the College of Environmental Design at the University of California, Berkeley.
Ms Sutton is a former instructor at Build It Green where she developed and presented the landscape design and site planning sections of the Certified Green Building Professional Training Program throughout California. She continues to receive invitations to present various topics concerning sustainable landscape planning and design at local, State and National conferences.
Ms. Sutton has also pursued an education in the field of natural health and healing gardens. She obtained a Certificate in Therapeutic Healing Garden Design from the Chicago Botanical Garden and is a Certified Natural Health Professional. She likes to incorporate her understanding of the health benefits of herbs and healing garden principles into all of her design projects.
Ms. Sutton is currently a Principal with Placeworks, formerly The Planning Center | DC&E, – an ecologically-minded planning and design firm with offices in Berkeley, Southern California and Utah.
